Bio
Samuel brought a unique blend of empathetic communication skills and extensive financial experience to CFS when he joined in 2025. He discovered a passion for writing as an American Studies student at Arizona State University and honed his skills as a journalist with The Arizona Republic. Alongside this, he built a 26-year career in banking, most of it serving clients in a retirement community branch, where he guided individuals and families through major life events, evolving family dynamics, and unexpected loss with patience and practical support. These experiences shaped his deep appreciation for the role that compassion, trust, and clear communication play in protecting dignity and preserving family relationships.
Raised in Brazil as the child of Baptist missionary parents, Samuel developed a broad cultural perspective grounded in faith, which continues to influence his life and work. His commitment to loving others with empathy and respect guides his relationships, both personal and professional.
Outside of work, Samuel enjoys history, dramatic weather, and rockhounding – especially fulgurites. But more than anything, he cherishes time spent with his wife of 26 years, as they watch their three adult sons start their own families.
